It all started with two friends who were sitting at a coffee shop one day, and decided to marry their skill for organizing with their love for helping others. The result? The Refined Home was created with one major goal in mind: to create beautiful, functional spaces for families to feel perfectly at home.
Who We Are
Meet Alyssa
Hi there! I am a native Californian who moved to Texas as fast as I could. As a child, I loved organizing my room and making the home that I lived in with my dad feel warm and inviting. After high school, I moved to Houston where I earned my degree in Education from UH. I then taught 3rd grade for 5 years, before starting a family and eventually a real estate career.
My experience helping clients prepare their homes to go on the market rekindled my love for organizing and making people’s homes functional and beautiful. When I’m not helping people I am enjoying spending quality time with my husband and our 3 kiddos.
Fun Facts:
I LOVE food with a passion. Although I try to eat healthy foods most of the time, I'll never turn down a good pizza or taco!
I have a need deep in my soul for travel, and road tripping is one of my favorite ways to do it. There's nothing like hitting the open road, blasting music from the 80's and 90's, and seeing beautiful new places with my family.
I married my high school sweetheart, and we are both small business owners. It's been fun navigating this life together and supporting each others dreams.
Meet Jaclyn
I grew up in small towns all over Texas. Growing up, I loved rearranging my room, organizing my dad’s office, or painting something a new and fun color. I graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Economics, but over the years have remained passionate about home design and creating beautiful spaces. After getting into the house flipping business with my family, my love for design was solidified.
My home philosophy has always been “neatness over cleanliness” and I can not stand to live in clutter. I live with my husband and two baseball-loving boys in Northwest Houston.
Fun Facts:
I love being near or on the water. It's so peaceful and calming, and reminds me that I'm just a small part of a much bigger picture.
I love music and going to concerts. One of my favorite things is music that is moving and has meaningful lyrics. A good live music performance is truly an art form!
I enjoy a good competition! Whether it's a board game or backyard baseball, it is always fun to try your hardest!
